1.1 Location:

The Msimbazi Centre Training Institute is situated at Mchikichini Ward, Ilala Municipality, Dar es Salaam Region, along Kawawa Road, about 5 kilometers from City Centre.

1.2 Historical Background:

The Msimbazi Centre Training Institute was established in 1962 with the aim of rendering evening classes to adults (adult education), that gradually developed to become a vocational training centre and was registered by VETA with registration No. VET/DSM/FR/2021/C/177 to offer vocational skills in Secretarial duties and Homecraft courses. Msimbazi Centre Training Institute is an institution whereby Technical and Vocational education and training is provided as per NACTVET curriculum and students sit for NABE and CBA Level I – III examinations. In addition, students are also obliged to sit for Institute internal examination.

1.3 Vision, Mission, Major functions and objectives

1.3.1 Vision

To become one of the leading providers of high quality technical and vocational education and training skills in Tanzania. The vision for establishment of Msimbazi Centre Training Institute is to have an excellent and up-to-date local middle level labour manpower with qualified knowledge and skills so as to eradicate poverty through technical and vocational skills.

1.3.2 Mission

To provide access to high quality in Technical and Vocational education skills that meet both national and international standards. To develop technical and vocational education skills and competence of both the in-service trainees and pre-service trainees from schools, from the public sector, private sectors as well as from the civil society for the delivery of excellent services through technical and vocational education training using labour market demand approach/method. To train competent middle level graduands in the field of Information and Communication Technology, Business Studies and Home cares courses at NTA Level 4 - 6 and level I to III respectively. To co-operate with the government in alleviating the standards of living of people in eradication of poverty through technical and vocational education skills.
